FTP Accounts
Discover more about FTP accounts and about FTP as a whole - what they are and when you will need them.
FTP, which is an abbreviation for File Transfer Protocol, is the most famous method of uploading web files to a web hosting account. With an FTP application that is pre-installed on your desktop or laptop PC, you can establish a connection to your web hosting server and copy all the files that you want with a couple of clicks. You can do this using an easy-to-work-with graphical interface and it is as easy as dragging and dropping the files in question. The advantage of using File Transfer Protocol is that you’re able to set up separate accounts, each with a different level of access to your web space, so if you wish to give someone access, for example – a designer, they’ll be able to connect only to a particular folder and will not be able to access the remaining content or any other information, including private details. Three prerequisites are required in order to be able to establish an FTP connection – a hostname, which is usually a domain or an IP, a user name and a password.

FTP Accounts in Website Hosting
Any of the
website hosting packages offered by us will permit you to set up unlimited FTP accounts, so you’ll be able to administer the content of your Internet sites separately or to grant other people access to any site in your hosting account. If you’ve got a web design program installed on your home computer, you’ll be able to administer numerous websites all at once and to keep them updated with no effort. In case you provide the login information to another individual to perform a certain task, you’ll be able to update the password for that FTP account or to delete it entirely with just a few mouse clicks and prevent any possibility of unsolicited access to your web content in the future. For your convenience, all FTP accounts that you create will be shown alphabetically in the corresponding section of your Hepsia Control Panel.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you host your websites under a
semi-dedicated server account, you will be able to set up a separate FTP account for any of them, since we haven’t put a restriction on this feature with any of our packages. You can accomplish this through the FTP section of our simple-to-use Hepsia hosting Control Panel where you can also view the complete list of all the FTP accounts that you’ve set up, together with the folder that each one of them can access. If necessary, you will be able to update the password for a certain account or to change its access path with a couple of mouse clicks. You can also delete an account effortlessly in case you don’t need it anymore – for instance, if you have hired a web designer who’s done with the Internet site and you don’t want them to be able to connect to your files anymore. For your convenience, we have prepared a number of tutorial video clips, which will help you administer your FTP accounts without efforts if you’ve never used a website hosting package previously.
